Awesome so remember last fall how I was a production assistant and grip on the school’s collaborative project with AEP Transmissions? Yeah? Well it’s finally up for viewing on Vimeo though the Columbus College of Art & Design’s Cinematic Arts page. Directed by Primetime Emmy Award winner, Gregg Heschong with original score by the award winning, Larry Groupe this piece illustrates AEP Transmissions’ history in the field and drive to a bright future.
Not only is it up for show but it also won an International Cinema and Industry Award for Best Student Feature: Non-Dramatic, a CINDY award! This is amazing, massive props to Laurel Powers and Richard Smith III for directing and committing to such a monumental project. And even more props to everyone on board this project who without them couldn’t have made it possible at all.
Also something that’s even more neat is that we’re at it again this semester. This time around another major investor and household brand has hired Ron Saks and CCAD to create something truly ambitious. Together with a handpicked team of advertisers, animators, and cinematographers we are going to take charge on a major client.
Meanwhile shooting has began in Circleville for The Tragedy at Emmitt Whistle’s. We’ve been working long and hard on the Panavision and Red Scarlet to prepare ourselves for the intense shooting schedule ahead. It’s been a long time coming but not only do we have our location, our Emily, and our Jasper but now we’re so much closer to having our Emmitt.
